TripLineup Privacy Policy
TripLineup is a Chrome extension that shows live sports and concert events at your destination while you browse Google Flights. The short version: TripLineup has no accounts, collects no personal information, and runs no analytics.
What TripLineup reads
When you view a trip on google.com/travel/flights, the extension
reads the trip you are looking at from that page: the destination, the origin,
and the travel dates.
What leaves your device
To find events, the extension sends only the following to the TripLineup API (a server we operate on Cloudflare):
- the destination city and state
- the trip dates (as a date range)
- the event category being searched (sports/concerts)
That is the entire payload. Your origin airport, flight prices, the page URL, and anything else on the page never leave your device. Requests contain no account, cookie, or user identifier of any kind.
Our API uses this to query Ticketmaster's public Discovery API for event listings and returns them to the extension. Ticketmaster receives only the city/date query from our server — never anything that identifies you.
What we do NOT collect
- No accounts, emails, names, or contact information
- No analytics, telemetry, usage tracking, or error reporting
- No browsing history — the extension only runs on Google Flights pages
- No persistent identifiers (no install ID, no cookies)
- Nothing is ever sold or shared with data brokers or advertisers
Storage
Trip and event data is kept in Chrome's session storage on your device and is automatically cleared when you close your browser. Nothing is stored permanently.
Server-side, our API keeps a short response cache (about 2 minutes) so repeated searches don't re-query Ticketmaster. There is no server-side database of users or searches. Like any web service, your IP address is processed transiently by our infrastructure for abuse protection (rate limiting); it is hashed in memory for that purpose and is not stored.
Permissions the extension uses
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
Access to google.com/travel/flights | Read the trip you're viewing so events can be matched to it |
| Access to our API host | Fetch event listings |
storage | Keep your search results and panel state for the browser session |
sidePanel | Show results in Chrome's side panel |
activeTab | Show an accurate toolbar state when clicked on a non-Flights tab |
Changes
If TripLineup's data practices ever change, this policy will be updated before the change ships, and the extension's store listing disclosures will be updated to match.
